A Gambrills woman has been charged with using her position on the Waugh Chapel Swim Club to steal thousands of dollars dating back to 2016.
Kimberly Rae Champagne, 47, who had been the club’s “dive team representative” for the past nine seasons, was indicted by an Anne Arundel County grand jury Jan. 25 on two theft charges for alleged schemes that netted her more than $10,000 from the swim club.
Champagne faces charges of stealing between $10,000 and $100,000 from the club between June 15, 2016 and Sept. 30, 2017 and then stealing between $1,500 and $25,000 between Oct. 1, 2017 and Dec. 11, 2017.
She was served with a criminal summons Monday, court records show. No attorney was listed as representing Champagne in court records and attempts to contact her were unsuccessful Tuesday.
